The boys at A Hamburger Today have let us know that May is National Hamburger Month. This month-long celebration is being sponsored by White Castle (we hear they know a thing or two about burgers, having been in the burger biz for 85 years). If you feel like commemorating the occasion, you can always send someone an e-card, but we recommend celebrating the right way -- by diving right in to a big, juicy burger at the establishment of your choosing (the one pictured is from P.J. Clark's, in case you were wondering).
We've also heard rumors that May is also National Barbecue Month, National Egg Month, and National Salad Month (presumably to counteract some of the cholesterol).

The worst hamburger in NYC: Boxers (West 4th and Barrow Sts) in fact any food(s) on their menu that was once breathing oxygen or grown on a farm will make you sick, sick like the devil himself poisoned you.
I'm guessing the staff never washes their hands after taking a #2, have you seen their bathroom? It's dirtier than CBGB's and a $2 whore combined.
Actually most "meat" is not raised on a farm.
"Manufactured" is more like it.
Two words: CORNER BISTRO.
I've never had a hamburger there but have had mussels, and catfish sandwich and they were fine. Service is friendly at the tables and at the bar and...they have a 2 for 1 happy hour during the week at the bar and at tables. Nothing wrong with that. I don't remember the men's room being particularly dirty.
I was referring to Boxers.
When thinking of a great hamburger, White Castle isn't the first thing that springs to mind.
Sliders?...Ewww.
all I know is today I went up to shake shack for the first time, and after waiting for my food for a half hour and seeing several people in line behind me get theirs, I asked what the deal was, and they responded "looks like we lost your order", as if it was something that happens all the time.. wtf?? it was a good burger though.
Corner Bistro was terribly overrated. So they put onion soup mix in their burgers, big deal.
The DB Bistro burger is the best. If you have an expense account get your butt there for lunch!
Montparnasse - 51st between 2nd and 3rd. The best 12.50 you will ever spend.
No chow at Boxers, just Guinness. Men's room wasn't particularly gross.
Severely let down by the Corner Bistro burger. I make better at home. Now, TBJoint @ LPMeridien & Shake Shack produce some burgers to which one should hunker down! I will put a $1 a day into a DB Bistro burger jar. Looking forward to it in 3 to 4 months.
Always medium-rare or less at Five Points and Blue Smoke in Manhattan or Diner and Peter Lugers in Williamsburg.
Boxers looks like a frat boy and tourist hangout; never had the desire to step foot in there. The Spotted Pig makes a damn good roquefort burger; although you have to wait and fight to get in. Though the chance to spot the Jigga and Slohan whilst dining... priceless.
Wendy's is alright, sometimes.
Just no finger please.
White Castle burgers are a vomituous plague of "meat" unecessarily unleashed upon the general public.
May is also National Osteoporosis Month!
