RE: the Tom Cruise thing, I saw a whole bunch of press people outside the 68th/Broadway theatre. Was that supposed to be one of his stops? I figured the crowd was for him since most of the regular Tribeca premiere/red carpet events are probably over...

Okay. The immigrants just lost all credibility with that one statement. Smuggling yourself into a country hardly compares with being dragged here in chains. Somehow I doubt the first Africans who came saw it as much of a land of opportunity. That's right up there with Roger Toussaint being compared with Rosa Parks.
