Swept Away

2006_03_srangerslib.gifThe Devils completed their destruction of the Rangers with a 4-2 victory, giving them a sweep of their playoff series. New Jersey scored their third short-handed goal of the series while Martin Brodeur let in two goals for the first time in the playoffs.

Jaromir Jagr attempted to play with his injured shoulder but was knocked out of the game in less than a minute when he was driven into the boards. It was a valiant attempt by Jagr to rally his team, but the Devils were just too dominant.

With the win, the Devils will have a lot of time off before facing their next opponent. The Sabres and Flyers are tied at two games apiece and until that series is settled, the Devils will not know who their next opponent is. Whoever they play, New Jersey is on a roll and will be a dangerous team.
