I was at the reading too, and even though I've been talking about David Mitchell for years, I still get a little tongue-tied when trying to describe just what is so great about his work. You lasso'ed a good bit of it in this piece. The idea of an "elastic talent" is one I'll probably be using to describe him in future!</p>
