We could feel the despair in the air when Shake Shack decided that they'd be holding off on breakfast this season. But never fear, New York Burger Co. is filling in. Starting on Wednesday, May 3rd, New York Burger Co. will begin serving breakfast weekdays from 7 AM-11 AM at its Sixth Avenue location (breakfast at the Park Ave. South branch is planned for the future). The breakfast menu incorporates the same high quality ingredients as the burger side of the menu, including free-range eggs, applewood smoked bacon, homemade granola, and smoothies made with fresh fruit and Greek yogurt. There's even an express section, "for customers already running late."
We're still not 100% sure of the connection between burger places and breakfast -- anyone want to fill us in on that?

Okay, I don't know what the connection is, but I do know that burger joints - and diners and any other restaurants - should make Loco Mocos. I had one in Hawaii (see here) and it might be the most amazing thing: Take some rice, put a beef patty on it, then some gravy, and then an egg! AMAZING.

I believe they have Loco Moco on the menu at L&L's on Fulton St and 535 8th Ave. Loco Moco is great, but for me it's all about the spam musubi. Now that's fine dining.
