ART: The 10th annual Tribeca art walk is this weekend. Toast, the Tribeca Open Artist Studio Tour, is a free, self-guided tour of approximately 100 artists' studios throughout Tribeca. Talk to the artists in their own spaces, and of course - check out their art while you're at it.

BOOKS: Remember Book Fairs? We used to go them all the time, our first was held in the library of our elementary school. Now we usually just go to the Strand. This weekend, however, is the Dixon Place Fundraiser. Basically, Astor Place Barnes & Noble has paired up with Dixon Place to host a Book Fair, of sorts. Vouchers will be handed out and a portion of the money used to purchase books with those vouchers will go to Dixon Place. Kind of confusing, but we think you'll figure it out. Tonight there will be a reading featuring Mike Albo and Josh Kilmer-Purcell.
Tonight through April 30th // Tonight @ 7pm // Barnes & Noble [4 Astor Place ] // Free
READINGS: The Believer, you know - that magazine that costs about $9, has curated a night of events that are sure to get your 'lil literary hearts a racin'. The readings will be by Salman Rushdie and Dubravka Ugresic, there's a discussion between Mathew Ritchie and Ben Marcus, and a showing of a Japanese sitcom dubbed by Daniel Handler and Jon Stewart (THE Jon Stewart).

PRETTY: As we mentioned briefly, the Cherry Blossom Festival at the Brooklyn Botanical Garden is this weekend. The over 200 blooming trees are a centerpiece in the weekend of over 60 events and performances. With "traditional music, dance, taiko drumming, ikebana flower arranging, cooking demonstrations, tea ceremonies, craft demonstrations, and workshops for both adults and children," you can't really go wrong. Especially when the sun is shining!
