Trash, Glorious Trash

This might be one of the funnier art projects that we've seen in well, awhile.

But here, let's let the artist, an Oscar the Grouch made flesh named Justin Gignac, explain:

I sell garbage.

I scour New York City streets picking up trash. After filling bags with subway passes, Broadway tickets, and other NYC junk, I carefully arrange plastic cubes full of the stuff. Each box is unique and won't leak or smell. The cubes are then signed, numbered, and dated, making them perfect for anyone who wants their own piece of the NYC landscape. Just get one now before they clean up this city.

And how much does it cost for you to get your "own piece of the NYC landscape?" A mere $50.

Have we mentioned that we love NY?

This is a good scam. I wish I had thought of it.

We live in a bizarre society...

I suppose it you can buy Bottled Welsh Air, anything goes. I'm surprise "Real NYC Garbage" isn't on Ebay yet.
