Map of the Day: Taste of Chinatown

2006_04_tasteofctown.jpg

Today's map is of the 51 restaurants participating in this year's Taste of Chinatown. The event takes place today from 1PM - 6PM and will feature tasting plates at $1 to $2 each. A list of the participating restaurants and items they are serving can be found on the Taste of Chinatown website. It looks like there are lots of meat items, but we also see some vegetarian and vegan items. Fun for your whole veggie-concious family!

Gothamist will be down there with our dollar bills stuffing ourselves silly at as many stops as we can! We just didn't have enough yesterday when we previewed some of the items. Be sure to check out our interview with Amy Chin, the program director for the Chinatown Partnership Local Development Corporation (one of the organizations behind the event), as well.

I'm not going out there and risking getting rained on, not for a dollar a dish. Other people are likely to be thinking the same thing and I'm guessing this will probably be a washout. They really should have planned a rain date for the event, as there should be for any major outdoor event.
