I want to know who the brave soul is going to be, who takes the first tram ride, when they get it going again. And, what are they going to take with them? I'd guess, at least 3 sandwiches, a lot of bottled water, maybe some Twinkies, maybe an orange or apple, maybe some yogurt, a portapotty, toilet paper, a good book, a charged cell phone, lap top with a good battery (one that can play DVD's), a blanket, air mattress and pillow, soap, razor, make up, toothbrush, toothpaste...

I love this quote from the Swiss company's website that were in today's Daily News:
"Installations erected 30 years ago receive the same careful and comprehensive service as the most recent state-of-the-art installations"

Re: the Swiss ... from "The Third Man"
"Like the fella says, in Italy for 30 years under the Borgias they had warfare, terror, murder, and bloodshed, but they produced Michelangelo, Leonardo da Vinci, and the Renaissance. In Switzerland they had brotherly love - they had 500 years of democracy and peace, and what did that produce? The cuckoo clock."
(in the film, Orson Welles to Joseph Cotten)

Why is the Dep't of Labor looking into it? Isn't that beyond their duties?
