Two times is a charm for the Transport Workers Union! After narrowly rejecting the first contract by seven votes in January, and now after their union has been hit with millions in fines just yesterday, 71% of the Transport Workers Union have approved the original contract. But since the MTA claims that they are not offering this now union-approved contract any longer, we expect there to be either binding arbitration or some serious tete-a-tetes between the MTA and TWU - and the MTA seems to be holding all the cards.

If the MTA stated that the old contract offer was no longer on the table, why the hell did the union put it down for a vote anyway?
The union is in a bad position and they know it.
Take off a few incentives as punishment for wasting everybody’s time.
I don't see how the MTA has the high ground here.
This is the offer they made. As far as I know, an hourglass wasn't turned over when they made it, with the offer to be rescinded once the sands had run out.
Why should it matter if it took the union two votes to get approval? That's something that's procedural on their end; shouldn't be any of TA's bidness.
Truth is, the MTA took some flack for what they offered and now they're using what is barely a technicality to get out of it.
They are welshers. Irrespective of what one thinks about the TWU, the MTA has demonstrated that it has no honor.
