Why don't the Mets just steal the Yankees's song? Seriously, though, as a non-Met fan, I also have to agree with Vinnie to a certain degree. Yeah, the bubble could all burst tomorrow, but what the hell, they're playing good ball, see where it goes and enjoy the ride.

you don't think the mets real problem is how they play on the road? i do. they were bad on the road last year. and beating atlanta on the road really is a test for the team. Fine. You'll get no argument from me, Tien. It just seems like every series there's a new "true test" for the Mets, and I'm really REALLY sick of hearing it already (it isn't just you, btw, it's an epidemic). What's the "true test" for their cross town rivals who have a salary that's beyond the stratosphere and a .500 record? My motto is enjoy the season. When news happens, talk about it. When bad stuff happens, talk about it. When good stuff happens, talk about it. But enough of this "this is a real test... this is the real test... this is the true test..." So far, they've lost two games this season. I'd say any artificial benchmarks are worthless because the closest teams to them have 4 losses after 12 games. I'd say beating the hell out of two divisional rivals and one of the best teams (at the time) in the National League is more than enough in the testing category.

That song is possibly worse than the nets new anthem. The techno/electronic/synth background beat is horrible and unappealing and the pronounciation of "our" makes me sick to my stomach.

"but the true test will obviously come in Atlanta" Just this very weekend, the true test was playing the Braves last night. Two weeks ago, it was playing the Brewers (who were one of the hottest teams in the league). Why is it that with every win, someone at Gothamist finds the need to point out that none of them are "true tests" even after proclaiming such before the win? If the Mets had lost, we'd be hearing right now about how they failed their first "true test." Enough with the true test BS. The Mets are at least 3 games better than the next best team in Baseball. Not in the National League. Not in their division. IN BASEBALL. Stop moving the goalposts and enjoy the season.
