Let's Go Devils?

2006_03_srangerslib.gifIt will be a strange day for Rangers’ fans as they will actually be forced to root for the Devils this afternoon. Since the Flyers beat New York 4-1 Saturday, Philadelphia controls their own fate. However, if New Jersey can win today, the Rangers would have the chance to clinch the division with a win on Tuesday.

Even if the Devils win, New York has to figure out a way to right the ship before the playoffs. They certainly have injury problems, but the Rangers have not played well during their four-game losing streak. They have been outworked which is shocking for a team that has played so hard for most of the year.

Henrik Lundqvist will be back in net Tuesday night for the first time in almost a month and the team can only hope that he isn’t too rusty. The playoffs start Friday night and the Rangers will need the “old” Lundqvist if they are going to have any chance of advancing past the first round.

It's so frustrating to see a team so good not play to their potential. Now I understand how all my teachers felt.
Also, poor Jagr. He just lost the Art Ross and Rocket Richard trophies to Thornton and Cheechoo. He'll most likely still win the Hart, but it's a shame nonetheless.

another devils win the division is ours after tuesday night.

The Rangers MUST win Tuesday. Going to OT and 1 point won't do it for home ice ....
Please, please, please start King Henrik.

Kasparitis is needed too. Our defense puts no fear into anyone, but kaspar does, they are less bold when he plays. We need him back too.

I don't think having Lundqvist back in the net will make much of a difference when the bigger problem is that the Ranger defense is not very physically imposing and can be pushed around easily by a team with a really good forecheck, e.g., The Flyers. Weekes played a good game saturday; If he hadn't, the Flyers would have scored about 7 or 8 goals.

The Rangers have got to get healthy and get tougher if they're going to make it beyond the first round.
