People don't be fooled into buying the book, it's boring as fuck. I thought it was going to be a series of slice of life narratives but it reads more like a dry sociology text. Great idea, poor execution.

I cant agree more with all of the above posts. I think the days of a doorman building being a selling point are coming to an end. I just got another wallop on my monthly maintenance due to both fuel and personel costs a couple of months ago. Its become like paying a mortgage and rent simulatneously. Seriously, I hope the Realty Advisory Board comes out on top on this one... After the last tax increase and this, I'm teetering on not being able to afford my own home.. Guess it may be time to think about retreating to the burbs like many of my friends.

My whole gripe with unions in general is that we always hear about how when things are good, and everyone is benefiting (the company, and the overused term 'fat cats'), they the worker should be justly compensated ... that they should share in the wealth too. Fine, I can see that. BUT!!! when things aren't so good, and times might be a little tough, when people are getting laid-off, belts are tightening, profits are down ... the unions don't want to give back shit. Seems that they should benefit when times are good .... AND when times are bad. They lose sympathy with me.

Why is the doorman article amusing? I feel exactly the same way. Sometimes I don't want to see anyone at the end of the day. Also, why would I want someone keeping track of every "walk of shame?"
