Dear brother Salam-O-Aliekum Brother I am 36 years of age and married man. My wife is disabled.She is using artificial leg. I have 2 school going children but I am jobless last many months and also facing my health problems depression and tongue burning problem Due to jobless condition I am not able to take medical treatment of myself. Allah knows and my suffering family that how much I am in both my health and financial crises because of no job.I am hard worker and beleive in hard work. I have achieved many targets in my marketing job. Brother kindly help me in my job matter which provide regular meal to my children I pray for your success and good health in my five time prayers to Allah. Mikey - "disingenuous?" I included the date after all. And I have seen the flies on the the food in the open containers they keep on top of the food case myself. Hey - the food is "cheap"- what do you expect. And it tastes alright for what it is. All I'm saying is eat at your own risk.

Lahore is yummy. Not the best cabbie joint, but it's definitely on the short list (another good one is Haandi on Lex) If you want real tasty and cheap South Asian food, though, you MUST MUST MUST go to Jackson Heights. Kabab King is pretty good. So is Roti Boti.

Health inspections my ass! If food like this really is bad for you then why are there over billion Indians, Pakistanis in the world? Why are there 1.3 billion Chinese? Hell even unpasturized cheese from France is illegal here. If all food were made to USDA or DOHMH standards, it'll all taste like chicken. Stale chicken.

well that's a bit disingenuous, John. At the bottom of this post is the most recent health inspection, not a former one like you posted above. To see results for any restaurant in the city, go to: http://63.106.144.9/RI/Welcome.jsp and you will find Lahore to be quite satisfactory. Noticably absent are the "evidence of mice/rats/roaches" that many many many have. LAHORE DELICATESSEN 132 CROSBY STREET, Manhattan 10012 212-965-1777 Current violation points: 11 Inspection Date: 11/15/2005 Violations were cited in the following area(s) and those requiring immediate action were addressed. 1.) For what it's worth I eat at Lahore regularly and have never had a problem. I wouldn't say I have super constitution -- real street food in India did leave me a bit sick on a few occasions -- but I don't worry about food in places like this. If there's a risk it's so slight as to not even matter. On the other hand, if you're like hr and can't properly digest a Big Mac, maybe you should avoid eating at different and interesting places in the city. I hear Gerber food is easy on the stomach...

Although the weather is changing, I mostly stay away from the food, although its great.... the milk tea there is fabulous, ask for one sugar....

I'm sure the food is fantastic, but the photo makes it look really, really, really unappetizing. I realize you couldn't do a full studio shoot, but that picture doesn't do anyone good.

booo on hr! i love Lahore, and actually discovered it by following my nose 'cause the food smelled so great. granted, it ain't the cleanest spot, but i've had no digestive problems as a result of eating there, and i did not grow up on the stuff.

Let's set the record straight about this place. Unless you're looking for a nice case of dysentary or violent shits, stay clear. Unless you've grown up on this food and your digestive system is prepared to handle it, you've been warned. I was all adventurous once with this place, looking for the 'authentic' Indian cabbie food. The place smells like shit, it actually smells like a really bad cab. The food is tasty, but after the love affair with the taste is over, you'll be paying for it. It's the equivalent of eating a Big Mac. It's all fun and games, but boy ... do you pay for it. Forget about any type of cleanliness in there either. Why doesn't gothamist do a review of a hot dog stand next? Or garment district loading dock sandwich shop?
