O.K. Let me just start by stating that I hate the Yankees more then anything.
More then Osama Bin Laden, more then Katie Curic.
In my opinion being a Yankee fan is like rooting for the Nazis in WW 2.
That said, I'll be glad when all you Yankee fans are crying in your boilermakers again this September after, god forbid, another year without a Yankee world series.

Why ? Because all the money big fat Georgie boy lavishes on his billion dollar line-up, aint gonna help win anything if you don't have a strong pitching rotation..!

There I said it. Now go get yourselves a real team to root for..

P.S. Here's to Giambi and Sheffield being indicted in the Balco scandal along with B. Bonds.

Torre wanted to see if Proctor had the stuff to be a long man, someone he can go to to hold the oposing team in a late inning tie for a few innings, before going to Rivera in the event that the offense scores a run or two. this is very important to find out now, when its early in the season, and while those who have already proven themselves such as Small are on the DL.

so yes, its a torre loss, maybe he should have put in Sturtze, but again, its a very good thing he's finding these things out now while the season is young. Proctor has been in and out of the roster for last few years now, and its nights like last night that will seal his fate.

and hey, remember last year when the reigning WS champs got swept in the first round? that was neat ;)

Yet Another Torre Loss.

At what point are Yankee fans and the media going to realize that he's not a very good manager? There's no reason at all to bring Proctor in in that situation - this loss is definitely on Torre's shoulders, and we should count how many games he costs us with decisions that can be first-guessed as incorrect.

Me thinks Gothamist worries too much at a point in the season that someone with 2 HRs is projected to hit 162.
