spirit is re-opening tomorrow: http://www.spiritnewyork.com/ thankfully! new york is supposed to be a fun place! its reputation far and wide is a place of wild, exciting nightlife and people always ask me "Wait, if you're from New York, what are you doing in Toronto?" I always reply, "I can party here."

I agree don. An irreverent friend of mine asked what I thought would happen if all the tina addicted gays had their own Stonewall protest over the busts. With all do respect to Stonewall, I said, "well, who could get a word in edgewise to explain the reason for the protest?"

Call me square, but I don't mind if the cops put a little scare into meth dealers and meth users, especially in the gay community (which, by the way, is my community), given the damage it has done and continues to do.

Google is such a useful tool. Splash Bar opened Saturday night after a Supreme Court judge issued a stay of the restraining order pending the trial this week. Spirit is reopening tomorrow (Thursday) night for their usual fun and games. Club Deep is opening Friday night with their regular weekend schedule. Club Speed probably reopened as well, considering they only had a restraining order put against them.

"targeting establishments with gay-clienteles" If that was the case they'd be shutting down clubs like Roxy every weekend. I don't expect these clubs to open in the week anyway, probably by thurs or friday night.
