Gorillaz @ Apollo Pics and More Tix

Gorillaz have invaded the Apollo Theater and some great pictures have been coming in. On top of that, we just received word that a bunch of tickets for their remaining shows have been released and just went on sale, at Ticketmaster as well as at the box office. The shows are tonight, tomorrow and Thursday.

So consider this a public service announcement.

Get your tickets here! (Only $82.95 for an orchestra seat! Heh.)

Has anyone checked out Gorillaz at Apollo so far...is it worth the ticket price? Here are some photos @ Flickr. Above photo from Sloths Are Funny's flickr.

NYTimes gave them a nasty review, although the reviewer was clearly a fan. Apparently, the video screen wasn't working so there wasn't much to look at and the sound sucked.

I went last night (Monday) and it was totally worth it; no technical problems whatsoever. Regarding the price, yes it is expensive but there are lots of performers (a kids choir, Harlem choir, De La Soul, Ike Turner, Shaun Ryder, Roots Manuva, Martina Topley Bird, Neneh Cherry, a string orchestra from Juliard, and I'm sure there's more people that I'm probably forgetting..) so the ticket prices have to be a little higher than what you normally pay. Cut your expenses elsewhere (i.e., eat ramen for a few days, don't drink, give up a few concerts) and go see them. You won't regret it

too goddamn short. However, if you go to concerts to meet people, I doubt you'll be dissapointed.
