Oh give me a break. Le Monde is terrible. And by terrible, I mean terrible. People just eat there because they are attempting to maintain the illusion of class, not that Le Monde is particularly classy. The food is abysmal.

agree with DKNY. Le Monde is good, but pricey. Although I must say that Lime Leaf is excellent and cheap Thai - and Abby Pub has great pub food and atmosphere (far enough away from CU to avoid the frat boys)

All those restaurants up there are dumps. I live in the Columbia area and when I first moved there it seemed like I wouldn't have to travel far for good restaurants. Guess again. Everything up there is basically an upscale diner pretending to be something it's not. Case in point: The West End, The Heights Bar & Grill, Deluxe, Toast, etc. The only decent restaurant is Le Monde, and for the location, service and quality, the food is way overpriced there.
