Upcoming

7481438_200eb26d3b.jpgDidn't get tickets to the sold out Flaming Lips show at Webster Hall tonight? We have good news. Wayne and the boys will be playing a free show at Prospect Park tomorrow afternoon...in celebration of this great weather we're having.

Psych. We're just getting in to our April Fool's Day mindset. Here are some things that are really happening this weekend:

COMEDY: What could be better than starting off April Fool's weekend with Michael Showalter, Eugene Mirman, and Leo Allen? (That was rhetorical). The three take the stage at Warsaw tonight and are coming fully loaded with special guests, stunts and apparently some jokes as well. Go early and get some perogies.

Tonight // 8pm // Warsaw [261 Driggs Ave, Brooklyn] // $15

ART: Kaleidoscope opens this weekend (running through April 8th). This is a comparitive exhibit presenting "two styles of photographs: those that are staged" and those that are unstaged. We wonder which the photos in Blue States Lose would be.

Tonight // 7 to 11pm // The Changing Room [3 Centre Market Place] // Free

STREET FAIR: The sun is out, so put on some flip flops and walk around the East Village. Get some cheap eats and shop for things you don't need (but you totally want) at the East Village Festival.

Saturday // 11am to 6pm // East Village [Fourth Ave between Astor Place and East 5th St] // Free

APT ART PARTY: We don't know why anyone would invite you all in to their apartment, but someone is opening their doors tomorrow. [Ed.: Never mind, they didn't invite you all - our bad!] Come mill about their apartment, which will be transformed into a gallery, and check out the works of some local artists. There will be wine, rooftop dancing and live music. How big is this apartment?!

Saturday // 3 to 9pm // 319 E. 8th St, Apt 6A // Free

What time are the Flaming Lips playing at Prospect Park tomorrow? And they'll be in the bandshell, right?

"How big is this apartment?!" Not that big!!!

The apt party is mine, and the problem is, you never consulted me to post this event. That is a serious problem, because if you decide to come and there are too many people I will not let you in. And there's no wine. So before you take liberties, you may want to take responsibilities first, and contact the host. Moron.

3pm I biked around Prospect Park seeing no signs of a concert. A Prospect Park employee told me that they had played earlier that day, in true Flaming Lips stylee..... in the Little League parade!!! Finishing with a concert for the kids, and any lucky mums pushing their strollers for a morning walk!

Darn.
