Electric Magnetic Graffiti Part 3

2006_3_resistor1.jpg

The evil geniuses at the Eyebeam Graffiti Research Lab are at it again. James wrote in: "btw, here's a link to our newest release: the night writer. check out the video. gonna be fucking huge in germany!" The Night Writer device entails a bunch of LEDs, affixed to a board, and put up using a giant pole. It's pretty cool-- and the video they made is totally insane.

All this electric graffiti got us brainstorming about futuristic graffiti technology. What do you think of these ideas?

1. NightRoller: Very bright glow-in-the-dark paint for roller pieces. Looks white during the day, but at night it glows with the power of 1000 suns.
2. Paintball Piecer: hook up a paintball gun to a robot arm, and program it to fire out pieces at walls 100 ft away.
3. Tagtalkr: an attachment that you put under a piece, and when it senses someone walking by, it screams out your tag over and over.

We could go on and on. We're going up to the GRL one of these days-- do you have any ideas you want us to pass on to James?

That's AWESOME! Those guys are so creative. I can't wait until I spot one of their tags on the street. The best part about them is they are not as permanent (I'm assuming) as paint so they are still cool but not as destructive.

1. Not completely terrible (but close).
2. lame
3. Irritating and lame.

Overall weak suggestions.

Jake, more stuff like this. this is awesome. one of the best new york stories to be posted in some time. more more more like this!

Less, less like this. Stop advocating illegal street art.

How about the horrible environmental damage that throwing lithium batteries onto the side of buildings will cause?

The technology is definitely creative, but its application is less than praiseworthy. How would you feel if someone stuck their lights onto your house or car?

I would love it if someone stuck lights onto my house or car! And if you don't, then just remove it and enjoy your free watch battery and high powered magnet.
