Gay American to Write Gay Book?

2006_03_mcgreeveybk.jpg"I am a gay writer" doesn't quite have the same ring as "I am a gay American," does it? Former New Jersey Governor James McGreevey is writing a "tell-all" autobiography that will hit the bookstores in mid-September. The book, currently titled, "The Confession," will cover all the bases of an autobiography - upbringing, etc. But what most people are looking for, his public revelation that he was gay. First reported in yesterday's Newark Star-Ledger, the book will have details of his sex life and how he kept his homosexuality secret. Less interesting perhaps is that the book will also cover New Jersey politics in depth. Doesn't McGreevey understand that people just want the details of his big secret?

McGreevey, the Democratic governor of New Jersey from January, 2002 - November, 2004, made himself famous with his infamous announcement that he was gay. In his resignation speech in August, 2004, McGreevey that he "engaged in an adult consensual affair with another man." That affair, he said, would impact the way he governed, leading to his resignation.

The book is already available for pre-order on Amazon. Anybody out there in bookland planning on reading this?

I'm more interested to see how he justifies hiring an unqualified croney to run New Jersey's Department of Homeland Security. You know, the allegation that came out right around the time he made his "gay american" speech?

Jim's 'big secret' continues to be the wholesale corruption of NJ politics covered up underneath the oprah friendly theme of his book.

Ah, screw him. He just used the gay thing as a cover for being a corrupt moron. Gay or not, appointing your completely unqualified israeli lover the director of homeland security of New Jersey is not OK.
