Hawke's Office Way Past The Hottest State

Dare we say it? Poor Ethan Hawke. First Uma, now this!

Early yesterday morning a fire broke out in a newly renovated office on the second floor of the above building. The blaze quickly spread from the second floor all the way up the fifth and along the way it ripped through and completely destroyed the fourth-floor office of one Mr. Ethan Hawke. What this means for Hawke's currently filming project, an attempt at writing, directing and staring in a movie version of his own first novel, The Hottest State, is anyone's guess.

So in the meantime please, if you see Hawke soulfully walking around trying to deal with his newest loss, try not to mistake him for Mark McGrath?

Sprinklers. Sprinklers are good, especially low-pressure residential ones that don't wash everything away.

The editing work in recent weeks was lost, but the master tapes were saved (by my wife, the day before the fire, by a weird stroke of luck; she's assistant film editor on the project). Details on my blog.

Staring or starring, Garth?

Why so much damage? Fire department is a block away on 18st.

Is it just me or does Ethan look more like Clay Aiken in the photo. FUG. Mark on the other hand..yum.
