It's starting to look increasingly likely the Hillary Clinton has made a pact with the devil, because all of her opponents' campaigns seem to go down in flames before they even get started. We all remember what happened last month with Jeanine ("Do I Have Page 10?") Pirro-- things were looking so bad that Pataki forced her to pull out of the race. Now it looks like a similar fate is about to befall KT McFarland, the new Republican hopeful. Earlier this week the papers began asking if she's been padding her resume. That would probably have been survivable, but today it looks like her campaign has officially jumped the shark. The Post has the story:
Former Reagan-era Pentagon official Kathleen "KT" McFarland stunned a crowd of Suffolk County Republicans on Thursday by saying:"Hillary Clinton is really worried about me, and is so worried, in fact, that she had helicopters flying over my house in Southampton today taking pictures," according to a prominent GOP activist who was at the event.
"She wasn't joking, she was very, very serious, and she also claimed that Clinton's people were taking pictures across the street from her house in Manhattan, taking pictures from an apartment across the street from her bedroom," added the eyewitness, who is not involved in the Senate race.
Her campaign is saying that she meant it as a joke-- but the writing is on the wall. Who's up next?

Oh Wow! It just doesn't get weirder than that! What is it with the NY Gop??
Seriously how is it that in a city with a republican mayor, in a state with a republican governor and more political money floating around than pretty much anywhere, the GOP can't muster up one competent, sane, candidate? It's not like Hillary isn't one of the most politically divisive figures out there!
Don't forget the equally loony John Spencer, another Republican running against Hillary and former mayor of Yonkers.
Maybe it's time for the GOP to un-retire former Senator Pothole. You ready to get back in the limelight, Al? At least everybody already knew he was a whackjob. There can't be that many more skeletons in his closet, can there?
I had the displeasure of having a crazy man take my seat at the 6th Ave Starbucks today. Maybe the GOP should ask him to run.
Sorry Brightliner, don't slight Senator D'Amato. He was good for NY, good for NYC and good for the U.S.
He is a good man with occasional lack of good judgement and amoral in his personal life (his desire for an annulment) but he is overall a good person for a former politician and a nice guy with a good family.
