If we gave out an annual award for excellence in NYC elephant photography, we'd be awarding it today to DrewBic, for this great shot of the troupe entering the Midtown Tunnel in Long Island City. While most of the crowd was waiting on the Manhattan side, Drew was over in Queens, where the elephants are unloaded from the trains. Does anyone else have pictures from there? Great picture. I especially like the appropriate question displayed in the background. Classic.
How the heck did he ever get pictures at a tunnel entrance? Last time I tried that, the cops stopped me for 15 minutes.

After reading it, I saw the cops indeed gave him a hard time.
I would have merely pointed to the pachyderms and said, who wouldn't take a picture here.

Do the elephants walk back out of Manhattan when the circus is over?
They do indeed walk out of the city. It's a much more pleasant experience, warmer and less hubbub.
Did they use EZ Pass?
poor elephants.
Does anyone know when they will be walking again? I would really like to see them this time.
The terrorists have already won.
I kinda feel bad for the big guys, as well. I'm sure the air in that tunnel isn't exactly the cleanest for them to be breathing in. I can barely stand if I have to open the window for a split second...
Yea, does anyone know when you can see them again, I found out about the first parade too late!
i know what an elephant looks like, i don't need one forced to march down the dirty streets of NYC.
it's funny how people get mad when humans are kept in cages or put on diplay - but have no problem doing so to animals. they are very smart animals and it actually makes me smile when they step on an ignorant human.
that shit is FUCKED UP
Yes, I hope we jump for joy watching animals walk through manhattan so they can be forced to perform for our amusement.
I love elephants as much as the next person, which is why I'll never understand how naive people are when it comes to circus.
