- Bruni gives Iron Chef Morimoto one star. D'oh!
- Two new greenmarkets are being considered for the Upper East Side (remember greenmarkets? They were what we had before Whole Foods and Trader Joe's)
- Neighborhood fave Zum Schneider is circulating a petition to prevent it from being evicted -- go sign it so we can keep drinking gi-normous glasses of weisse beer and eating wurst and schnitzel!
- Astor Wines' new location has opened -- check out their events this week.
- Cuozzo calls Piano Due New York's "best new Italian restaurant" that "almost no one" knows about. For the record, we knew it existed, we just haven't been yet -- have you?

I don't understand why they don't make more of an effort to open greenmarkets in places like Harlem and Washington Heights, etc.-i.e., places that actually *need* them and don't have a glut of healthy food options-the Upper East Side doesn't need more of this.
Charles, it takes more than organically grown produce to make people eat healthy.
And why is this the first I'm hearing about Zum Schneider?
I think it takes having healthy options to eat healthy-you are only as good as your options and the options in many parts of the city are lacking. So greenmarkets would give people in those neighborhoods more options.
cause the people who work at the Greenmarkets would have to dodge bullets, muggers and crackhos just to sell to people who are gonna say "YO! you got No onion rings?! WHATTHEFUCKISTHISHIT? Apples, AWW HELL NO!! why don't you open a greenmarket there charles?
Why don't the idiots in this city move back to the Midwest?
Charles, one of these days people like you are going to figure out that insulting people is hardly a way to start a persuasive argument. Do you see the irony in making blanket assertions about people from the Midwest? Where are all of these highly educated and tolerant Blue Staters I keep reading about?
My original point is that they do sell fruit and vegetables in poor neighborhoods. It may not be as nice as the greenmarket but there are options. The point is people make the wrong food choices.
I think Charles was addressing our lord and savior, who by His very title you would expect to be tolerant. Oh, well. Stepping out now...
Jesus Christ is from Iowa?
I am tolerant as heck. Who was I making fun of? people with bad speech patterns who don't speak english well. It was your own prejudice who gave a color to the people I speak of.
It's ok my son, your prejudice and pre-conceived narrow minded notions of people are forgiven.
Now go and turn more water into wine, two milleniums and I still can't believe you haven't opened a winery?
Greetings, all!
My name is Briana, and I'm an NYU student studying Graduate
Journalism. I recently became aware of Zum Schneider's eviction
threat, and I was wondering if I could get some more information on the current situation.
I am hoping to write a story for one of my classes about Zum Schneider, and I'd love to talk to any customers (for or against them) briefly either by e-mail or phone. The deadline for my story is tomorrow at 12:30, so any time before then would be great.
If anyone is available and willing to assist me, I'd really appreciate it. You can e-mail me @ bpmowrey@gmail.com
Thanks!
