Video(s!) of the Day: Guns N' Roses in New York!

Thank you, YouTube! This is so awesome: Guns N' Roses performing at C.B.G.B.'s in October 1987. The best clip to our ears is the one above-- Patience-- but Axl and Slash look and sound great in all five clips:

Move to the City
Used to Love Her
One in a Million
You're Crazy

Oh for those halcyon days back in the 1980s when Axl was still semi-coherent and GnR ruled the world-- how we miss them!

what's up with the clipboard? Didn't Axl know his own lyrics?

and "one in a million" is a big steaming pile pf racist crap.

holy cripes! i was AT this show, standing RIGHT BEHIND the person filming this! (i have some pix) -- can you let me know how you got this footage? contact me at evilsugar25@earthlink.net. a little backstory: this was late october, 1987, and g n'r had played l'amour brooklyn the night before. i think japanese rockers ezo opened. the place was only 3/4 full! after the show, we were hanging around…

while the place was clearing out. someone said over the loudspeaker, "if you have jumper cables, please report to the bus in the front of the club." my friend andy ran out to his van and then next thing i know he's giving the band's bus a jumpstart.

duff told us they were doing this in-store the next day, and to come by, so we did. i also have pix of them in front of cb's that night, as they were doing a photo shoot with a rock photographer friend of mine. duff, steve, slash and my friends struck up a friendship that carried on for a few months.. duff sent me tapes of them jamming on some cover tunes that were later released as bootlegs... and, oh... reminiscing. anyway, AWESOME video find. great night, great memories....
