There Goes Another One

2006_03_scrawfordball.jpgWe all knew this would happen. Eventually, Larry Brown and Stephon Marbury were going to stop pretending they liked each other and openly feud. It took longer than we expected, but the fight is here. For his part, Marbury feels like he has played within Brown’s system and wants to return to his “Starbury” ways. Brown seemingly mocked his point guard before last night’s 108-96 loss by saying, “"I've never given a guard more freedom than Stephon Marbury in my life. I'm hopeful he'll step up and be Starbury."

The thing is no matter how you look at it; this will not end well for the Knicks. Brown has four years and $40 million left on his contract so it’s hard to envision him walking away. Trading Marbury may be next to impossible with his max contract and bad reputation. Getting equal value is out of the question, the Knicks would probably have to take on more overpriced contracts in return. On the bright side, only 20 games are left in the season.

larry brown is such an asshole, it's incredible

Larry Brown is fine human being and the best mind in basketball today. That said, those uniforms are atrocious. They are almost as unsettling as those old Grizzly and Hawks unis. And, for the record Marbury is both an a$$hole and wasted talent. At least Prince had the ambition to match his limited talent.

How is Larry Brown a fine human being? Did he give a $1 million to Katrina victims? Nope, that was Marbury. What has he done to make him a fine human being? It seems all his former players hate him.

How is Larry Brown the best mind in basketball today? I think the worst mind in basketball today could coax this amount of wins from the team. I think Larry Brown is more concerned with his legacy and reputation than his team. He sells his players out in the media all the time. And he can't fit his "system" to players. That doesn't sound like the "best mind". THat sounds like an idiot.

That is such a great picture...jamal crawford scrambling for the ball with marcus camby watching from afar. that one picture embodies the status of the knicks. Camby, a former knick (former future of knicks), on another team (a winning team)and crawford (a pawn of the thomas era)messing up on a play (sucks).

although i am an avid ny-er, i can't help but feel bad and bash the knicks. They really really suck. i can quote many by simply saying they are only recruiting "good players from bad teams" and fudging it up.

I think everyone's to blame for the screwy season they have. however, in the case of brown...he is still getting used to the knicks. every stop he has made, it has taken him at least a year to repair and mesh the team plan and spirit. It was just as difficult in conjunction with the size of the players' egos (i.e. iverson, billups, and yes jalen rose). But it seems to me after every stop Brown recreates his relationship with the initial team chemistry that always rejects him. It's just a matter of it taking longer now that he's older and having idiots like marbury.

For every superstar player as in (a player with a bigger disdain for team play than his stats take account for), Brown has gotten into his doghouse and the players' in his. but its remarkable how things get better after confrontation and arguments. I think that's Brown's idea, he's been bashing players since he got here and that's his plan. To ignite a fire for basketball and fueling team chemistry. I dont think any player in the locker room would stand up for marbury. heck no, he dug himself into his own hole.

In the case of starbury...how's the self-proclaimed "league's best pg" doing?

Larry Brown is a white asshole and Stephon Marbury is a black dickhead which means Knicks fans are SCREWED!!!!!
