Um, it's f'n freezing in NY! Poor animals..I don't support any circus..that shyt is not entertainment. I'm taking my son to see Sesame Street Live instead..at least they don't torture big bird. No seriously though, I hate when people treat animals so terribly. This is terrible.

SICK SICK SICK! WHEN THEY BRING THE CIRCUS TO CLEVELAND I TELL EVERYONE NOT TO GO...I ALWAYS HOPE THAT I MAKE A SMALL IMPACT. THEY PARADE THE POOR ELEPHANTS DOWNTOWN HERE AS WELL...IT IS DISGUSTING. I WISH SOMEONE WOULD PUT A STOP TO THIS. IT IS HEARTBREAKING. THE BEST DAY OF THESE ELEPHANTS LIVES IS PROBABLY THE DAY THEY DIE...THEN THEY ARE FINALLY FREE FOR THE FIRST TIME.
PICTURES ON THEIR WEBSITE? OH YOU WONT SEE PICTURES...THEY DEFINITELY HAVE MUCH TO HIDE...BASTARDS! THEY WILL ALL GO TO HELL FOR THIS.

Stopped by their website. Lots of great descriptions on how well the their animals are cared for. Funny thing, though, couldn't find a single photograph.

Well, Mr. Barnum said it himself: There's one born every minute...

you can see the joy in the elephants eyes. he is so happy to be a performer and entertain people for a living. he is happy to visit NYC. "hello NY" his eyes seem to say. some people are jealous because they want to be famous like the elephant, but no one will line up to watch them walk down the street. they sit home at night as young children cheer for the elephant.

Ok enough about humane treatment of animals. Look on the Ringling Bros. website for a description of how the animals are well cared for.

What we want to know here is does anyone know the route the animals will take, especially on the Queens side of the tunnel. Are the animals going to pass by the corner of 21st St. and Jackson Ave.?

What about the poor contortionists in Cirque de Soleil who are forced to twist and bend for our "entertainment", that's what I call inhumane.

"You can even see the sadness in the elephant's eyes in the photo." This has got to be a joke, right? I think an intelligent debate about using animals for entertainment is healthy, but not one based on comments like this.

I think I was about two when I discovered that the circus seemed to be mistreating animals. I thankfully avoided annoying relatives who wanted to drag me to the circus when I was growing up, as my mother also shared a dislike for the circus.

If you want to watch a fun circus where nobody gets tortured, go get Monty Python's Flying Circus on DVD. instead of ponying up the cash to support animal torture.

You have to walk them through the tunnels because they cannot go across the bridges (apparently they get into a rhythm that isn't good for bridges or elephants on bridges- perhaps an engineer can explain this?) and they cannot bring the circus trains into a place where they can be easily dropped off.

The use of animals in the circus is cruel and inhumane. Certainly we can all learn from the likes of Cirque de Soleil that a "circus" can be magnificent without the use of animals. These animals are forced to live in the bowels of Madison Square Garden where they get no day-light and no excercise. It is really, really tragic and I urge each and every one of you to protest against the inhumane treatment of innocent animals. "It's the person who has done nothing who is sure nothing can be done. - Ewing"

Is it just for "shits and giggles"? I was under the impression that it was necessary to walk them through the tunnels. Of course, I suppose it isn't NECESSARY for them to be in a circus at all.

Yeah, I am torn. Ethics vs. entertainment.

I don't like this. It's just cruel, dragging these animals around who are clearly out of their comfortable habitat for shits 'n giggles. You can even see the sadness in the elephant's eyes in the photo.
