Gothamist makes no secret of our love for NY1 (who does?). They've got such spunk, such character, such an adorably low budget! And yet when they own a story they own it (see: the Transit Strike). So you can imagine how happy we were when Gothamist reader David Jacobs pointed out that NY1 is now avaiable on demand. Though we don't watch much of the On Demand stuff (our TiVo prefers we worship it alone), we may have to rethink that policy now.
So, now TWC has given us NY1 on demand and Karaoke on demand, what crazy service is next?

You haven't seen spunk and character until you've watched Brooklyn 12, "As Local As Local News Gets," channel 112 on Timewarner.
True Dat. Channel 12 is down with the hardcore, although one of their reporters, as I discovered when they came to cover an Atlantic Yards demonstration, appears to lack some critical faculties but that's OK.
Still, good point well made, none of the cool kids are watching NY1 anymore. Now that Pat Kiernan appears on game shows and Best Week Ever the whole business is utterly played out. Couple of reasons - Adam Balkin, smug tech reporter, and The Call, where John Schiumo asked you to be the program editor. lazy bastard.
Anyway, if you love the stupid thing so much, how'd you miss the fact it's been pimping stupid on demand news storys for two weeks now? Extra Adam Balkin and fluffy Jill Scott? Why thankyou ambassador...
I think TW's Movie Trailers On Demand feature is pretty cool. I love movie trailers.
