Jack Dorrian sounds like an ass, he refers to Imette as "that little girl" and then brags how his baby boy donated a liver so he cant be a killer, what a dick.
http://www.nypost.com/commentary/60769.htm
“First of all, that little girl wasn’t drunk – and all that does is hurt her family.
“Second, she wasn’t thrown out of the bar. It was closing time and everyone was asked to leave.
“Third, my son Danny was not bartending and he didn’t ask anyone to escort her out.
“Fourth, this guy Littlejohn, he was not a bouncer. He was one of two doormen working outside the bar to check ages and IDs of drinkers. Bouncers work inside a bar in case of trouble. My son Danny couldn’t even see this guy Littlejohn. Danny was inside, Littlejohn was outside.
“Fifth, Littlejohn was hired on a part-time basis. He passed himself off as a former U.S. marshal complete with his U.S. marshal’s cap and identification hanging from his neck.
“Forged? Looks like it might have been.”
Carol Dorrian added: “We are already getting all kinds of crazy calls calling my son, little Danny, a killer.
“A killer? Danny gave his father a new life when, two years ago – on April 21, my husband’s birthday – he donated his kidney to Jack, who was on dialysis three times a week for four months. The same young man, with his brothers and friends, raised $85,000 for Hurricane Katrina victims.
“It’s disappointing that people somehow are attacking Danny. But, of course, our problems are nothing compared to the pain of that little girl’s family. I’m a mother many times over and I just cannot imagine what they’re going through.”
Regardless of how this is resolved, the Dorrians should be permanently banned from ever holding a liquor license again. I mean c'mon, 20 years apart, bars that he owns set the stage for high-profile brutal rape/murders of young women? They're shady characters, and the way they've handled this case proves it.
20 years apart in bars that have operated under the ownership of a family that, according to the Post yesterday, has owned and been running places for the better part of the last century. And while it's uncanny that both of these high-profile cases occurred at the family's bars, I think that high-profile nature has a lot to do with with those bars' clientele, i.e. white, young, and relatively well off. Jack described the victim as "that little girl"? So what? The man's 73 years old!
A lot of people seem to be eager to defend the innocent-before-guilty status of the bouncer, as they should, yet equally eager to condemn an entire family for the possible wrongdoings of one of its members (emphases on "possible" and "one")? That's BS.
The Dorrians are well connected to a lot of influential people. And this just sounds like their latest spin to this tragic murder.
Danny wasn't at the bar? That's not what most news accounts say. And don't forget that it was nearly a week before the bartender/manager (Danny) admitted that he had not exactly told the truth about what he knew had transpired that night. At the very least, this could have given the murderer a week to destroy evidence.
Jesus, I hate to come off as a Dorrian's apologist, but J. Dorrian didn't say his son wasn't at the bar; he said he wasn't bartending. That would've put him--in fact, likely put him--down in the office, especially at closing time and in no position to throw anyone out. In a second-worst-case scenario in which Danny Dorrian gave less-than-truthful statements, it may be because he was a teenager when the Robert Chambers case occurred, his family got dragged through the mud and sued, and it may have made an impression on him. That would seem to freak anyone into trying to distance one from an eerily similar rape-murder. Stupid? Yes. Criminal? Maybe. Liable? Probably.
Look, Jack Dorrian also said that Imette wasn't inebriated--as if The Falls would have assisted her if they thought she was incapacitated. I don't know if it was his other son, Michael Dorrian-the co-owner, or Danny Dorrian who ordered her out of the bar. But it's the Dorrians who are culpable. For crissakes, they had a *seven* time felon working for them in a position of trust dealing with customers. The Dorrians thought Littlejohn was a federal marshall and never checked his references. How stupid can you get?
They should lose their license. But this is a business that's made the Dorrians a lot of money and garnered them a lot of influential friends. Even after the Preppie Murder, Dorrian's Red Hand was suspended for only 10 days and had to pay a $1000 fine. And this bar was well known as a bar that would serve underage drinkers.
Does anyone really think the good ole Irish NYPD is going to get the Irish Superstars of NYC- The Dorrians in trouble?
I could see Jack Dorrian telling them, "your going to send my son to jail for some drunk spanish whore"?
Blame the black man. Damn shame.
I am a long time Dorrian's Red Hand patron and a friend of the Dorrian brothers. I can honestly say that all of these bars attract high-profile clientelle (like the NY Yankees), and it is simply impossilbe for the bar to ensure the safety of a patron before or after he/she is in the establishment. These bars that Dorrians own look out for the patrons over everything else. I have seen the staff at the Falls and Dorrian's Red Hand assist clients whenever they seem to be in trouble or have had too much to drink. From someone who is in a restaurant family, I have to say that it's very difficult to keep track of everything going on in a busy barroom. Unfortunately, bars and clubs are not usually the safest of places, and bad, terribe things happen to people who are black out drunk. The Dorrians don't invite trouble into their businesses, but when you own several NY pubs, you are bound to have some unfotunate things happen in them. And for the record, Danny Dorrian is a good guy.
If the owner's of the falls don't invite trouble into there businesses why was Littlejohn working there? If they had checked out the info on his resume he wouldn't have been working there. Yeah Danny Dorrian sounds like a really nice guy...if you think lieing to the police during a brutal murder investigation or hearing muffled screams and arguing from a young female bar patron and ignoring them is the definition of NICE. We call people like that cowards here in Canada but thats just us eh??
"or hearing muffled screams "?
Huh? When did that Happen, eh?
