Peeking through the windows in a space on 8th Street just East of University Place in Greenwich Village that once housed a Krispy Kreme, we saw a sleek, minimalist, modern looking space with long, narrow tables designed for communal eating. We looked a little more closely and saw a few more things that clued us in -- a menu filled with pan-Asian dishes, from Thai to Laotian, to Malaysian, and more, and a sign that read "Cafetasia." They've got a $7 prix fixe lunch special and the entrees hover around $10-$15 from the menu we could see through the glass, which divided items by size -- from XS to XL. Let's hope it's decent -- we're always looking for new fast eats and delivery options!

do you know when they will open? I pass by everyday and wonder about it....really hope it would be yummy place for lunch :)
They're open! It's pretty good too. The drinks are expensive, but the bartender's hot!
Just had lunch there today. Terrible. Everything tasted bad. To the extent that even the -water- had a strange taste and smell. The decor on the other hand is fantastic.
I had dinner there with some friends last night. I'd eaten there before and wasn't too impressed, but because I live so close, I decided to give it another shot. WHAT A DIFFERENCE!
There has been a dramatic improvement on speed, drinks, and above all SERVICE! I have to give the NEW Cafetasia 11 out of 10 stars.
