The Knicks Win!

2006_03_scurrylayup.jpgGothamist is going to embrace the positive and report solely on the good things that happened to the Knicks last night. After all, when a team wins for only the third time in twenty-five games, it is a cause for celebration. Yes, the Knicks won last night and on the road against a team fighting for a playoff spot as well. So, let’s enjoy the 103-98 victory.

The Knicks shot 50% from the field while outrebounding the Bucks and showing some grit in refusing to collapse during the final minutes of the game. Trailing 94-93, Malik Rose hit a 14-foot jumper to put New York up for good. Steve Francis sealed the game by hitting 5 of 6 free throws in the last twenty seconds.

The win moves the Knicks a ½ game ahead of the Bobcats and out of the NBA cellar. Their road trip continues in Indiana Tuesday night before they head to Charlotte to determine which team is truly the NBA’s worst. (Well, we almost made it the whole column.)
