One of the most depraved crimes in recent memory is being relived at a murder trial in Brooklyn. Raymondo Jack, witness for the Brooklyn DA, testified to seeing Hunter College student Romona Moore tortured and chained in a Brooklyn basement in 2003. Jack had been visiting his friends Troy Hendrix and Kayson Pearson when they showed him Moore. Hendrix and Pearson had kidnapped the 23 year old as she was walking to a Burger King in East Flatbush, and subjected her to beatings, cuttings, cigarette burns and rape. Though Jack questioned the pair why they did this (and remembering they had smirks on their faces), Jack never told the police, simply leaving the apartment to go to a baby shower. Jack did tell his fiancee and fiancee's uncle, and suspects that the uncle called police, who only found Moore dead, dumped near a an ice cream truck. In a defense tactic, Pearson's lawyer tried to paint Jack as a criminal for not reporting the crime, "Did you understand that what you say you saw at that time was inhuman?"
Pearson and Hendrix's previous trial ended in a mistrial, when they tried to kill one of the defense attorneys and grab control of a court officer's gun.

This is so sad. This poor girl did nothing more reckless than walk to a fast food restaurant. She was just pulled off the street and then brutally tortured for a week.
The death penalty is way too good for the scum who killed her.

She was missing for a long time. Then came some details. though this was the first time I've heard about the beatings, burning etc.
Then the mega millions jackpot story upstaged it.
IRRC, there were complaints at the time that the cops did not take it seriously enough when she was first reported missing. Unless I'm confusing it with another case.

The story is truly bone-chilling. I just can't imagine what would motivate two people to do it - I really can't. It scares me.

this case was kinda hard to forget, for obvious reasons.
I can't even begin to comprehend how devastated her mother must feel. Ramona was her only child. Now two years later with the ensuing trial, she must be re-living all the sordid details of her beloved daughter's death.
This story was commented on before a few weeks ago on gothamist. Those two men should get not only the death penalty but have a public beating.
About the guy who didn't say anything..he probably didn't want to be a rat, but more important didn't want to be killed next.
Anyone who tries to claim that there isn't a direct correlation between race and media attention either doesn't care or is a completely delusional utopianist.
It can all be traced back to the pre-Civil Rights thinking of "Let those violent, savage blacks sort each other out. It's not our problem because they're all uncivilized anyway."
But when f*cking Natalee Holloway gets wasted with her private school buddies in Aruba and makes the brilliant decision to get in a car alone with some sweet Dutch boys and take off, it is FRONT PAGE news for over SIX MONTHS. And the mainstream media loved it at first because they got to spin it as "Southern blonde girl gets kidnapped by scary dark-skinned foreigners" until everyone found out it was a group of white guys.
Wow, glad I came across this blog. I am fuming that this story didn't get the attention it deserves. Just to make comment, this lovely woman is black and attractive she had a sweet face and looks like a kind person. Nevertheless, it's true that whites/lighter-skinned persons that are attractive get much more media attention.
Having said that, while Natalee Holloway was also a victim of a crime, but, you're right, the media attention she got is ridiculous. There are others who have gone missing and don't get their fair share.
This is why I support the death penalty and monsters like these should be fried within 5 years of being sentenced. Everyone has head the phrase "25 to life" I would like the death penalty to be used as much that it becomes as well known. This is the only thing I ever liked about George bush - frying sub-human monsters expediently. If a human being preys on another human being in this manner then they are expressing the desire to be similarly dispatched and by their actions they give up the right to their own lives. Cruel and unusual punishment my rear, they do worse to they victims.
hey guyz these 3 guyz were my childhood friend raymondo jack i kno him real will he wasnt involved he help the case. for my other 2 friends they deserve the death penalty for what they did. sad
I don't even want to comment I knew one of the guys because we went to Jr. High and High School together. Couple years before he invited me to his house with his friend and I declined the invitation. It freaks me out to know I share notes with him at one time.
i wish i had seen this blog before, for one it is very sad what happen to that young girl i am her age and my brother inlaw Romando Jack wouldnt hurt a fly if the cops did there job when the family called the first time she could have been saved. if you dont know the story keep his name out your mouth good bye dont reply......
