After being suspended from the Village Voice for writing a fabricated cover story this week, Nick Sylvester has just been forced to quit his other job as associate editor at Pitchfork Media.

I think that in this case "forced to quit" means "fired."
If Sylvester isn't fired from the Voice, I'll never read that paper again, not that I read it that often now. I'm sick of scumbags like Jayson Blair, Michael Finkel, Stephen Glass and Janet Cooke giving readers a reason to doubt the veracity of the hard work so many of us put into our stories. Sylvester has joined the list of people who have degraded the profession.
