- The MTA says it will drop arrest charges against a transgender woman who used the women's bathroom at Grand Central; the transgender woman claims the transit police harrassed her repeatedly - which we can believe
- This makes it seem like arbitration is close - the MTA is going to approve the transit workers contract that the union rejected
- How might lobbying groups deal with the city's new restrictions?
- While the old Gage & Tollner's may be a TGI Friday's, there are still some traces of old restaurant
- And let's talk maple syrup smell - we had a few tips that there was a maple syrupy, perhaps caramel scent in the air... did you smell anything?

I thought the smell came on Thursdays, too, which is why we were surprised to hear about this. Some day we'll find out what it was and we'll be terribly disgusted.

Yesterday, I caught my first whiff of the smell near houston and bleecker. Much stronger than I had imagined, it smelled very buttery. Very strange.

I drive on the BQE everyday. At about 6 or 7pm every night it seems to smell like candy just before the exit for the prospect expressway (I head eastbound from Brooklyn to Manhattan). Different candy every night. Weird.
