A Queens teenager was pinned by a truck that was hit by a speeding car, leading to his leg's amputation. Zong Ling Zhu was speeding in her minivan and crashed into another car before hitting a truck at Utopia Parkway at 58th Street. The truck, then Zhu's car, hit Andrew Tsai, who was walking outside his high school in Fresh Meadows. Zhu fled the scene, but the police arrested her for assault, reckless endangerment and leaving the scene; an earlier report we read said Zhu had been driving around 60 MPH and never stopped. Tsai's aunt tells the Post, "Physically, he will recover. Emotionally, we are very worried about his future. He's only 18. How is he supposed to recover from the loss of his leg?" These stories make us sick - the cruel twists of fate that leave the aggressor relatively uninjured and the victim in much worse condition. Tsai is also undergoing surgery for his other leg.

Justice would be if Zhu had to lose her driving leg instead of a mediocre fine and community service.
Wow, a couple of bad asian drivers. Go figure!
Only one was a driver.
And where did all this Asisns as bad drivers stereotype come from.
I grew up in Bay Ridge with the saltiest of old curmudgeons and worked for the NY Post. None had heard of the bad asian driver stereotype. I asked.
In fact, they loved the Asian NY Post drivers because they delivered the wall st edition way before the other drivers. Who knows if they were speeding or if they were actually working instead of lallygagging.
You guys are so racist! It's not Bad Asian Drivers, It's Bad FEMALE Asian Drivers. Get it right. FEMALES ARE THE FUCKING WORST DRIVERS IN THE WORLD!!!!! Must be a first for an asian female to be a criminal. All Black guys must be sighing in relief when the 10 oclock news comes on.
Why do asians keep tissue boxes on their back windows?
Why do some Italian drivers have a small religous statue or beads/necklace on their dashboard?
Rev Pays=bad asian driver.
You keep thinking that pete, buddy.
this happened at my school. :(
This isn't the first car accident we've had at our school because of speeding drivers either. Though many people are reckless in crossing the street, none of the cars around our school ever slow down.
Its even crueler that he wasn't even crossing the street...he was just on the sidewalk when it happened.
I agree with All's Fair. The driver was fleeing the scene of another accident when she had the second car accident. That's pretty severe and the result of her carelessness resulted in a student losing his leg.
