The Knicks Win!

2006_02_scurryslam.jpgBreak open the champagne the Knicks are back in the win column! Ok, so beating the Raptors at home is hardly something to be excited about, but that is a good indication of the depths to which this team has sunk. Wednesday’s 98-96 victory wasn’t pretty and wouldn’t have happened without a jumper by Jamal Crawford with three seconds left in the game, but it’s still a win.

So, the Knicks will head to the All-Star break with a win under their belts, but how many of them will still be in New York next week? Rumors are flying around that the Knicks may make a trade for Steve Francis. How that would help the team remains to be seen, but it is apparent that Isiah is going to make some sort of deal no matter what. Here’s a trade that Gothamist would love to see.

The Stevie Franchise deal would be good for the one reason that it might bring in a player who Larry Brown wants.

Remember, (supposedly) Zeke told Brown to give him a wishlist of players that he should acquire, and it wouldn't be absurd to think that Brown would want a guy like Franchise, who is in a lot of ways similar to another player who he(Brown) coached with some success: AI.

Let's see.. another bloated contract from a player on the downside of his career, who hogs the ball, makes terrible on court basketball decisions and is a documented locker room malcontent.

But Larry Brown want him so it has to be a good deal!!

And Knicks fans wonder why their franchise is the biggest joke in sports.
