When we look at the medal totals for the Winter Olympics, we sometimes wonder what the United States would do if snowboarding wasn't included...but out of the men's mogul's competition, comes the inspirational story of Toby Dawson, who was abandoned as a child in South Korea, is searching for his birth-parents, and won the bronze medal. Dawson has been searching for his birth parents and hopes that appearing - and now winning - will help jog someone's memories in South Korea. Aspiring football player, Jeremy Bloom finished 6th and will be at the NFL combine in a little more than a week. The winner of the competition is a former Canadian, who moved to Australia and is a self-made millionaire, that seems to specialize in spam.
In Olympic Hockey, Team USA somehow managed to escape with only a tie to Latvia (they have hockey now?). It took a 3rd period goal for the NHL-stocked American team to get that 3-3 tie. While Team USA dominated most of the game, it's likely that the severe delays in getting to Italy for many of the team members had some affect on their performance. Latvia trailed 2-0 a little more than halfway through the first period but took the lead in the 2nd period when they scored two goals in less than a minute. Former NHL goalie Arturs Irbe played marvelously for the underdogs, who nearly upset the Americans. It took a 3rd period goal by Jordan Leopold to tie the game at 3.

Toby Dawson's story totally makes me cry.
the photo kind of reminds me of when i was a kid. not sure i had a backpack though.
I feel sorry to the child, and great thank to his parents instead of all Korean.
Not to rain on anyone's parade but the Winter Olympics pretty much suck and here's a good article explaining why:

NBC has been so desperate to run tearjerking up-close and personal biographies that they must have been thrilled to have Toby to talk about! It is a great story, but if you listen to him closely, you can tell that he spent much of his life not "totally stoked" about growing up as the only Asian person in Vail. If you're really interested, there are a few video clips of interviews under his athlete listing at NBCOlympics.com. Congrats, Toby "Awesome" Dawson!
Toby Dawson is also pretty hot. I predict him to be the breakout athlete of the Olympics. Endorsements, here he comes!
