I thought he was hit by a Private, Chartered probably, Bear Stearns bus getting their employees to work?
Thank goodness, no one was seriously injured during the snow storm. Those plow trucks don't stop and they are high up there and probably couldn't see the poor pedestrian walking in the street.

Holding the TWU "accountable" for the reckless actions of someone else? Good luck with that...
What's amusing to me, IMO,the people who would normally scream "Tort Reform" will say "Yeah! Get the Union!".

Likely BS and the Charter Company will be held Liable, assuming their lawyers don't blame the Victim.

As much fun as it may be to go after the TWU for this and have the lawyers get their rocks off and all, the TWU is an empty well. It will be interesting to see what happens when Bear Stearns throws a million damn dollars at this to make it go away. Will the principled stand agains the TWU hold fast or evaporate?

I know we're all mad at the TWU (I supported them but I've got my share of gripes), but blaming them for this tragedy is like blaming the sun for a hot day. The real culprit is the anti-bike culture that pervades on the streets of the city.

I think the fines are still in negotiation.

Who's this "Governor Pataki" you speak of? I've never seen him before.

I'm glad the TWU is being held accountable for what they did to the city and that poor man. Any updates on whether they have paid those fines? Or are they appealing themselves off the hook on that one?
