During the Blizzard of 77, the mayor of Buffalo, Jimmy Griffin, told everyone to stay home, and drink a 6 pack of Genny. Genesee beer, that is. I thought that SOMEONE might stick a Buffalo snow joke in here, but no one did! So, I thought I'd stick this true anecdote in. I hope that some of you were able to find a good hill to sled on. Here, we just pull over on I-90, and slide down the hill by the Blue WAter Tower in Amherst, NY. Its true-ask anyone who went to UB or Buff State, or Canisius or NU! BUt, for sheer thrills, nothing beats getting on one of those plastic saucers, and shoving off down a practically verticle drop, at the Lockpor Country Club. Hey, any place that posts signs, that say, No Sledding, and Management Not Responsible for Injuries, and you know, its good sledding! Only problem is....unless you're under 16, its a heck of a ride down...and a near heart attack going back up that hill!

yeah mary i "liked" that one too. i hate the mayor's voice!!! it's so high, whiny, nasal & CONDESCENDING! like NOOOO, i wasn't going to wear my hat & coat outside, duh! i had to turn the tv off everytime he was on there giving his little "speech". ugh.

I also liked the mayor's reminder that if you did dig out your car and move it yesterday, the space wouldn't be there when you returned.
