Unstoppable

2006_02_sjagrtoronto.jpgDon’t expect the Rangers to be happy that the Olympic break has arrived. Why would a team that has won six straight want to stop playing now? Saturday night the Rangers beat Toronto 4-2 capping off a perfect month of February.

Once again, Jaromir Jagr led the way scoring two goals to give him a league-leading 40 for the season. At this pace, Jagr has a good chance to set the Ranger’s single-season goal scoring record. Kevin Weekes delivered a solid game in net, making several big saves after Toronto had battled back from a 4-0 deficit.

Jagr, Straka, Lundqvist and six other Rangers are heading to Turin to compete in the Olympics while the rest of the team will have 18 days off. Their next game will be March 2nd against Philadelphia and it will be interesting to see if the layoff hurts them. With 78 points, New York is currently third in the Eastern Conference, only two points behind Carolina.

god knows, i think 3 at the most. we should have won yesterday gionta had 3 chances to tie it. oh well, as long as marty keeps on playing and the egg line keeps it up we will be in a good shape.
