Of course, after the storm of '06 hits we suggest snowball fights. Prior to the snowfall, however, we offer up the following...
BENEFIT: Just when we were talking about band gear getting stolen from the streets of this city, it's done and happened again. Bravo Silva's guitars were stolen last weekend and this weekend deejay crew Finger on the Pulse will donate the proceeds from their weekly party to raise money for them. Raffles and auctions will also be held...and as usual there's an Open Vodka Bar from 12 to 1am. [Full disclosure: "We" manage Bravo Silva. Please note that we have also written about approximately 12 other bands who's gear has been stolen that "we" do not manage.]
Tonight // Lucky Cat [245 Grand St, Williamsburg] // Free
PARTY: Friday night is all about Roller Disco on Ice! Forget Skating with Celebritites, this is much more fun. Turn the clock back and relive the years when jeans sat at the waist and the skating rink was the place to see and be seen! Glide to the tunes of prior decades as the DJs of Southpaw spin you right round baby (right round, like a record baby) Prospect Park’s outdoor rink. Off ice, head to the lounge for spiked hot chocolate, era-appropriate snacks, and a little karaoke.
Friday // 9:30pm to 12am // Kate Wollman Rink in Prospect Park // Tickets available here
THEATER: Things, good and bad, tend to happen in 3's. Starting this week the Emerging Artists Theater beings it's "Triple Threat" series. What is it? Basically it's the premiere of 3 new works from 3 emerging playwrights presented over 3 weeks. There is a lot of info on these plays, and it's all right here.
Now through February 26th // Theatre 5 [311 West 43rd St, 5th Floor] // $15
SIGNING: Tim Burton will be signing Corpse Bride dvds at the Virgin Megastore in Union Square this weekend.
Saturday // 1pm // Virgin Megastore [52 E14th St] // Free

30 dollars for ice skating? Eff that.
Shouldn't you disclose that you manage Bravo Silva? So you have a vested interest in them getting new equipment. Perhaps that's why you're promoting this one...
Uh, you might also want to disclose that that's not a "photo" of an ice skating party in 1862, but an illustration of one. Drawing. Artist's rendering. Or, to be convoluted, it's a photo of a page out of Harper's that has an illustration on it.
also, having a benefit to raise money for a millionaire's son is disgusting and sad. what a complete waste of benevolence.
