Dunkin' Donuts Video Shows Killer

2006_02_robvid.jpgPolice released the Dunkin' Donuts surveillance video that shows manager Sanjoy Kar being shot multiple times by a would-be robber on Sunday. They also identified the shooter as Otis Cain, who is suspected in connection with 15 other Manhattan robberies at stores like Haagen-Dazs, Subway, and Dunkin' Donuts. (We wonder if the Subway robberies we wrote about in 2004 are ones that Cain was involved in. ) Cain apparently used the same kind of silver gun in the other robberies, but this was the first time he used it.

Kar's sister and brother-in-law own donut shop at Lenox and 145th Street. The Post says Kar was supposed to leave early that day.

I know this is stating the obvious, but this story just depresses me so much. This poor kid just trying to get through college and earn a little money lost his life because of this asshole. RIP, Sanjoy.

I also thought this was really really sad. He was only in his 20s.
