Um, just because it has meat in it, doesn't make it a burger. The thing at Stone Park is a rib sandwich and that's why they call it that. They in fact do have a burger, and it's good. You know it's a burger because it's made from ground beef, which is what a burger is. Why does Gothamist find this so confusing?

Maybe it's just that I have small hands (even though I don't think that I do), but the 2x I've gotten a burger from Jackson Hole, they have fallen apart soon after lift-off. "Slut of a burger"? A bit of hyperbole, I guess, but so is the damn burger. Tried the Good Burger on 43rd/2rd ave the other day. Super-tasty but overpriced, as expected.

I'll have to agree with the others, this is more of a rib sandwich. Now if you had ground the rib meat, this would be a different story. Still, that sandwich looks pretty amazing. Burgerseeker: Slut of a burger? I wouldn't go that far. I used to go to the location on the UES pretty regularly and always enjoyed their burgers. Certainly not the best in the city, but more than tasty when you've got the craving.

- Jackson Hole is a slut of a burger, and is only good if you goto the original LGA joint. - I agree, it is a short rib sandwich and not a burger. - The Bistro serves a well priced scrumptious classic, that's why all the fuss. - Bonnies' uses frozen meat, and that ain't good. - The Waterfront Ale House on Atlantic Ave. by the water serves a killer burger... and if you want ribs, they got those too.

bonnies' burger in park slope, next door to the more esteemed blue ribbon sushi, beats out diner's for brooklyn's best burger in a gentrified hood. it has chipolte mayo and pickled jalapenos. deelish...

why all the fuss about corner bistro? their burgers are lame. burger joint and shake shack beat CB by a mile. but diner in brooklyn has the best burger EVER!

Might I nominate the burgers at the City Diner on the corner of Broadway and 90th? Those are excellent juicy BIG burgers with grilled buns, a key ingredient in my opinion.

Stone Park also features an intelligent, reasonably priced wine list. One choice, in particular, is worth trying: a Priorat from Spain with the distinctly un-Spanish name "Les Terrasses" by Alvaro Palacios. Last time I was at Stone Park, it was priced at $48, really not bad for a $30-retail bottle. Very similar to a good cru Bordeaux, for alot less. I suspect it would marry well with the burger (although I am not a meat eater).

I can not understand why no one ever considers Jackson Hole in these burger taste-tests, If you are hungry, want a great burger, great atmosphere, and an overall quality expierience- there is no other choice.
