
Here's something to keep you busy all day: William Bowen's Digital Atlas of NYC. The page includes maps on a variety of demographic topics. Most of the information is a little outdated, but it's still very interesting. Check out his population maps and income maps (1989 info) to see how much has changed (and how much hasn't) over the last twenty years.




Why are their so many maps about race and income? I am intrigued as how they are so hard to find and yet you guys have found them all.
It always fascinates me the obsession we have as a culture to infer some grand statistical answer from looking at race and income.
Do any gothamists think of them as a Grace Lee, or some other kind of racial statistic?
That kind of stuff amazes me. I love seeing mapped out statistics like that. Like the guy who mapped out the NYC neighborhoods of people who were incarcerated (I wrote about it but I can't find the link).
