I agree, Matt - Florent is worth mentioning. And is much more of a quality diner than that atrocity on the NE corner of 14th & 8th.

Since I live in this area, I was glad to see this post. I walk by Taza de Oro nearly every day but have never ventured in. I'd like to try it--what does one order there? Is it for breakfast, or lunch, or what? I was glad you didn't mention La Bonbonniere, because it's too crowded already. Diner 24 is a bit of a mixed bag, but they do wonderful "Disco Fries" (Belgian style) and much of their other food is quite palatable as well. It's noisy when crowded, tho'.

...or head (slightly) out of Meatpacking and go to Corner Bistro, Westville, Spotted Pig, Extra Virgin, etc. The MPD is overrated; unless you live in Hoboken.
