A car making a turn aggressively cuts you off or slams on the brakes when you have the WALK SIGN while crossing the street IN THE CROSSWALK? This is a danger that is not at all unfamiliar to every pedestrian in NYC. I think it's time for pedestrians to act up. If a professional driver (cab, livery car, delivery van)cuts you off, kick the door or bend back the side-mirror. I think you're well within your right since technically that car does not have the right of way. If the driver stops, politely offer to call the police yourself to explain how you were hit. Didn't they pass a law about this last year?
