LosAnjelous has an amusing comparison of Los Angeles and New York-- apparently delis, drugs and hipsters are popular in both cities! That's good news: when lower Manhattan finally gets vaporized, at least we'll still be able to smoke some weed with dirty hipsters, then get the munchies and score a pastrami sandwich. Except, of course, we'll be dead!

Paul Simon concerts? C'mon, LAist, the Simon and Garfunkel concert was a quarter century ago! Garth Brooks - nine years ago.
If Madonna loves New York, it's good enough for me! ;-)
what about union sq park, washington sq park, whiskey park?
Don't we both lose, as Paris Hilton likes to tarnish both of our cities with her mere presence?
Langer's is a good deli. Has it become popular with "hipsters"? Does it have the kind of traffic Katz's has? I know there've been a lot of changes (some for the good) in L.A. during the "oughts" but I suspect we are, both literally and in terms of the respective cities' trademark fruit metaphors, comparing (big) apples and oranges.
so 3 parks in la vs 1 in nyc eh? hmm, i guess that 4061 square miles of los angeles versus 321 for nyc are being put to good use. sheesh.
Just keep in mind that Jerry Seinfeld ended his show because he wanted to live in NY, not LA.
