We've all used Craigslist for something, even if to just pass some time seeing if anyone has spotted you reading your torn Murakami book on the F train in Missed Connections. Let's face it, it's a scary world inside that URL. Everyone dreads having to find an apartment share in this city with somene on Craigslist, and everyone dreams of finding that perfect no fee rental on it.
Finally someone has decided to document the site, and their time spent on it. 24 Hours on Craigslist is filmmaker Michael Ferris Gibson's look into the online world of barters, dating, sightings and much, much more. More than you could possibly imagine. Come check out what he found, tonight! Of course, the movie only covers San Francisco, where Craigslist originated, so we'll leave it to you to tell us about your NYC Craigslist experiences...

"everyone dreams of finding that perfect no fee rental on it."
I did :)
I had to find a place in less than a week. I emailed the poster, who happened to be the tennant - his wife was preggers and due to pop any minute - they needed a bigger place ASAP and were looking for someone to finish up the end of their lease.
First place I saw. Loved it. Landlord loved us. Now we live in a fabulous apartment in Park Slope - somehow affordable on our entry-level (read: non-existent) salaries...unheard of...
Moved in five months ago, and no plans to leave anytime soon.
Craigslist: It worked for me, it can work for you!
P.S. My boyfriend found his job using Craigslist too.
