The physical and mental focus required to play basketball at the NBA level is so insanely off the charts that the only reason any of these guys would pay more than a lick of attention to anything going on in the stands (beyond the front row where Spike or Jack is sitting) is if they are provoked. So I say, let 'em go into the stands. If I know that if I cross the line I might have a 7' athlete after my ass, maybe I'll think twice before reaching for that fifth beer. If David Stern was a man, rather than a corporate drone, he'd pay a little more attention to over-the-line fan behavior and stick up for his players once in a while.

I agree 100%. He was fully justified in entering the stands. He was properly ejected but any further suspension would be obscene.

If the NBA fines or suspends him for being concerned about his wife, that would confirm that David Stern is the asshole he's made out to be.
